today’s exhibit entitled “women of the lens” was an awesome experience. it was hosted by the association of minority professional photographers (ampp). i am honored to have been invited to participate this event which was created to celebrate and get exposure for women of color photographers in the bay area. i was in great company! ajira darch-sharp, jessica quintal, sheila morgan, cordetta spells, and patricia patterson were amazing to meet, network with, and forge newfound friendships with.
ampp was founded in 1973 to: mentor, educate, support and foster fellowship among professional photographers, enhance community awareness and confidence in, professional photography and its creators, raise the level of professionalism and skills of photographers serving the minority community, and increase visibility of minority photographers as skilled practitioners of photographic art and providers of quality professional services. special thanks to ampp’s president auintard henderson and member james adams for the opportunity to participate. for more photos, please visit facebook.
the theme i chose was music notes. my description cards read: “more than notes on a sheet, or a simple download, music is a defining part of my life, past, present, and future. this exhibit features images from moments in my musical memory.”
