The Lost Friends Collection contains more than 2,500 advertisements taken out by individuals who were attempting to locate family members and fictive kin who were separated due to enslavement. Through case studies, learn how to use the notices that were printed in the Southwestern Christian Advocate from 1879-1900 and were sent out to more than 4,000 subscribers living in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas.
