Thanks to those of you who were able to join today’s small group session. We did an ice breaker and I showed a new change in the user experience atAncestryDNA.
Next, we talked about our the assignment from last session: Select one of your potential ancestors based on your DNA results on ThruLines (AncestryDNA) or based on hints that show up in your tree. Make an attempt to see if you can confirm or reject the connection. We discussed our findings during this session.
Our next small group will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 8am Pacific/10am Central/11am Eastern.
Next assignment: Identify one of your more heavily utilized databases. Examine how well you sourced the records you found in the collection. Could you have sourced things better? Did you go back and clean up a lot? Share your findings.
Next time, I’ll also share how I figure out which of my known relatives is more genetically similar to a particular shared ancestor between us.
